International Graduate Course at Inter University Centre Dubrovnik, September 30 - October 6, 2012
In the early 1950s, when the few computers that existed were number crunching behemoths, Douglas Engelbart dared to dream about networked computers enabling people to think together and solve their increasingly complex contemporary issues. We are inviting a dozen international graduate students to Dubrovnik to join us in realizing this vision.
|
| The students will learn and begin to practice knowledge federation by federating Douglas Engelbart's opus and ideas. This course may be understood as 'handing over the flame' from Doug Engelbart to the students. Doug's work and ideas will be represented by the members of the Silicon Valley Program for the Future Project, who have been systematizing his work during the past decade. If Engelbart's health allows, he and his wife Karin will be joining us.
